With reference to legation telegram

No. 278 of the 26th March, 1955, and previous correspondence relating to the export of arms

from Germany to China, I have the honour to enclose

copies, obtained confidentially, of photographs of

a catalogue in the possession of a German who is

endeavouring to enter into contracte with Chinese

military leaders anxious to purchase arms and

munitiona.

It will he observed that the foot

note on the first page has been amended to read

"All prices are understood C.I.F. Haiphong plus

5% packing included", the prices originally having

been. F.O, B. Hamburg. The alteration suggests

that the agent is endeavouring to do business with

the military leaders in the South West.

It is understood that the prices

are in fact confidential to the agent who would,
